SCOPE
Following the success of the previous International Bio-fluid Mechanics Symposia the Following Symposium will review major milestones that were achieved in the past four years. It will define the so called "show-stoppers" in reaching a comprehensive understanding of Bio-fluid Mechanics from cell to organ levels. In this respect, we face major challenges in defining critical questions and identifying tools that are required to answer these questions.
OBJECTIVES
To gather scientists, clinicians, and practitioners from around the world to assess the latest frontiers of Bio-Fluid Mechanics, and to set important directions for further research and development, and education. Equally important is to provide bio-researchers, physicians and health care practitioners with fluid mechanics information, such as pressure, flow, shear stress and cellular response.
MISSION OF THE SYMPOSIUM
The Bio-Fluid Symposium has an important mission: To explore and discuss the foundations of fluid dynamics as applied to biological systems. This mission and the above objectives will be achieved by bringing together top researchers from Academia, Research and Medical Institutions, and Industry, to explore the state of the art of Experimental, Computational and Clinical Bio-Fluid dynamics, and to nurture the next phase of advances and activities.

FORMAT
Single Oral and Posters Presentations
Poster Format:
Poster walls of 1 x 2 m in size will be provided. Each poster wall will have the Paper Id number in the upper right corner to show you which is the wall reserved for your poster. Thus, the area available for your poster will be 1.9 m by 0.9 m (see example). This means you can display either one poster DIN A0 size in landscape orientation (116 cm x 84 cm, or two posters of DIN A1 size in portrait orientation (58 cm x 84 cm) side by side at maximum.
Standard material to attach the posters to the walls will be provided. Please, make sure and check, that you select fonts of appropriate size for the title, headings, and the text that your poster is readable also from some distance, especially if several participants are trying to read and understand your poster.
The average size of the poster board is approximately 40 x 30 and maximum 48 x 36. Entries should not be mounted on foam core. Standard material to attach the posters to the walls will be provided. Please, make sure and check, that you select fonts of appropriate size for the title, headings, and the text that your poster is readable also from some distance, especially if several participants are trying to read and understand your poster.
ORGANIZATION
Each participant who wishes to make a presentation is required to submit a two-page abstract to fit one of the symposium themes. The papers will be either orally or poster presented, and then is summarized by the Theme Leaders and Facilitators. All papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings and be composed, together with the conference discussions, into a Special Issue of the Annals of Biomedical Engineering
