Biographical Sketch
Gaurav Lalwani received his Bachelor of Technology degree
in Biotechnology from SRM University, Chennai, India in 2010. He has hands on
experience in lab work on Genetic Engineering, Animal and Plant Tissue Culture,
Microbiology and Biochemistry. He worked under the guidance of Dr. Kantha D
Arunachalam and Dr. Gopalakrishnan on the project - ‘Study of effects of
Tetrodotoxin on mammalian brain tissue using iron nanoparticles – TTX conjugate’
which was presented in the International Conference on Nanoscience and
Nanotechnology ‘NANOAFRICA - 2009’ in Pretoria, South Africa.
He also worked on the project – ‘Synergistic effects of
antibacterial activity of iron nanoparticles conjugated with antibiotics on
pathogenic strains of microbes ’.
He is currently pursuing his PhD in Biomedical
Engineering under the guidance of Dr Balaji Sitharaman. He would be working on
the development of Nanotechnology Based Theranostic Technology for Bone Tissue
Engineering.
