Lt. Commander Sausen, Ph.D. is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Dept. of Medical and Clinical Psychology, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (Bethesda, MD). His research involves cognitive performance during physiological responses to military survival training, in collaboration with Naval Health Research Center and SUNY, Stony Brook. He is a member of the Department of Defense Center of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury. In addition, he is a member the Interagency Committee on PTSD Clinical Trials Standards. His current research interests are cognitive performance and decision making under high-stress/high cognitive load conditions, combat and operational stress, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and mild traumatic brain injury.
